Alpine festival with the traditional “Almabtrieb” at the Elisabeth Hotel

In late September your Elisabeth Spa Hotel leads its own cows from the pastures back to the Scherrhof farm in the village. The cattle is colourfully decorated and the whole procedure, called “Almabtrieb”, is celebrated with a lovely alpine festival. It's the end of the alpine summer and the locals celebrate it with Tyrolean delicacies and traditional music.

Kirchberg “Sonnbergmeile”

The “Sonnbergmeile” on the first Sunday in October heralds the start of your autumn holiday in Kirchberg. During a farm-to-farm hike you will get to know the traditional Tyrol on the basis of customs, handicraft and culinary delights. You will be able to see how the Toggln (slippers) are produced, how to mow with a scythe and how to hack out or forge a trough. The easy hike, which leads you to five farms, is perfect for the whole family and will be accompanied by traditional music.

Fair in Kirchberg

Get to know Tyrolean famers' culture and customs at the Kirchberg fair. Various regional producers invite you to culinary delights. Freshly baked “Broda” or potato doughnuts, various cheese and sausages and dairy products only wait to be tasted by you.

Harvest festival

In order to say “Thank you” for the summer's rich harvest, the locals organise the harvest festival with a parade and a blessing of the crop. This event, which usually takes place in late October, is followed by meals and drinks with the locals.

International Libro Balloon Cup

More than 30 teams from Austria, Germany, Great Britain and Switzerland take their hot air balloon to the sky above Kirchberg in order to compete in the Balloon Cup. Apart from the championships, there are also hot air balloon flights available for the visitors.

Get to know Tyrol from its autumn side, during hikes or at one of the various festivals and indulgence markets. Your team at the Elisabeth Hotel is looking forward to your visit in Kirchberg and will gladly respond to your no obligation holiday enquiry
