Crowds of people at the Cordial Cup
Fans from different nations

Every year, around 3000 youth football players, boys and girls, from over 20 nations, come together in the Kitzbühel Alps. The reason for this is the Cordial Cup, one of the best attended youth tournaments in the world. For the C/D and E juniors (U15, U13, U11), there is a further motivation away from the fun of the game and the great chance to meet people from all over the world: scouts from international top associations scout for new talent at the Cordial Cup.

For example, Matthias Sammer, Sports Chairman at FC Bayern, has already observed the action at the cup from the edge of the playing field in Kirchberg in Tyrol. Werner Kern, former Youth Coordinator at FC Bayern chose youth players at the Cordial Cup for many years. Another well-known guest of the Cordial Cup is Michael Konsel, former Austrian football player. He is involved in scouting the goalkeepers for Austria. "Due to the number of teams and the international factor, this tournament is today more than a trainee tournament," says Didi Constantini, former player and later national coach. He is another notable companion of this youth football tournament.

Active players also have a close connection to the football tournament in the Kitzbühel Alps: football giant David Alaba of FC Bayern Munich previously played at the Cordial Cup. BVB star Kevin Großkreutz travelled and pursued the action with his U15 team: "There are very good opponents here. I think that it is something big for every team to be at the Cordial Cup." He himself trained in the training camps of the BVB at the Hotel Elisabeth in 2012, 2013 and 2014 and then recuperated in the Elisabeth Spa.

In 1998, the Cordial Cup was founded by Hans Grübler together with the eponymous hotel group and has since developed into one of the biggest international football youth tournaments at the annual notable clubs from all over the world. FC Bayern, Borussia Dortmund, Juventus Turin, Ajax Amsterdam,...are just a few of the top clubs that send their junior players to this tournament. The Cordial Girls Cup has existed since 2013, meaning girls too can prove themselves on the pitch. One of the best-known and strongest women's teams in Europe, the VFL Wolfsburg, has also sent its junior players to the Cordial Cup ever since.

More than a thousand spectators come to the Kitzbühel Alps at Pentecost weekend so as not to miss the exciting tournaments. The final matches on Pentecost Sunday are especially exciting, when the best junior kickers face off against each other at the end of the tournament and show off their talent. Then the scouts from various clubs from top European leagues are spoilt for choice.

The junior kickers, trainers, coaches and parents can relax at the Hotel Elisabeth, the exclusive partner of the Cordial Cup and sponsor of the youth sport.
