Combine your comfortable hike with wonderful mountain pleasure. Every week, you have the chance to take part in a guided hike to the Kasplatzl including connecting guided tour. Those who would rather set off alone can find the directions here.
Start directly from the Wellness Hotel Elisabeth in Kirchberg, on foot or by bike to Aschau, 9 kilometres away; it's even more comfortable by car. From the car park in Aschau, the path leads up the Hintenbachalm to the cheese dairy, which is managed by Hans Walch jun. with a lot of dedication.
To where the cheese comes from
Active holidaymakers opt for the versions from Kirchberg or foot or by bike, or comfortably take the car, either to the Ebenau car park in Aschau or directly via the toll road to the mountain. It is just one and a half hours to Aschau on foot, 8 minutes by car or a good half an hour by bike.
From Aschau, there is still the path up the Hintenbachalm to overcome. Those who decide to travel on foot should allow for 45 minutes; by bike, approx. 20 minutes are needed; by car, it is approx. 10 minutes to the destination.
Those who wish to can set off on a longer, more diverse mountain hike and not stop until the end at the Kasplatzl. For this, you start off from the Ebenau car park and turn left onto the upper ground. After climbing, you reach the Klooalm (1,100m), where you can reinforce yourself with a delicious Tyrolean mountain snack. You then head further towards the Hirzeggalm (1,552m), keeping to the winding path. Right to the highest point of the Spießnägel, you are rewarded with an especially beautiful natural landscape: alpine roses, meadow and forest flowers adorn the hiking path to the Moorsee on the plateau. Coming down from the summit, you reach the Hirzegglacke south of the Gipfelgrate. At the crossroads, the sign points the way back to the Hirzeggalm and from there via the forest road to the Kasplatzl show dairy.
